Patriots' Path

The 50-plus-mile regional trail that links most of Morris County's parks.

Patriots’ Path is the regional trail network that connects most of Morris County’s parks, historic sites, and open space. The Morris County Park Commission has been building and maintaining it since the 1970s. Total network length is over 50 miles, made up of paved multi-use paths, gravel rail-trail segments, and dirt forest paths.

In the Morristown area, the path threads:

The path is signed but mixed in surface and difficulty. Some segments are flat paved greenway suitable for strollers and road bikes; others are singletrack rocky climbs. Plan a specific section rather than treating it as one continuous trail.
