Grace Lord Park’s centerpiece is 36-foot Boonton Falls, where the Rockaway River drops over the fall line. The park sits along the river just below downtown Boonton’s main street.

What else is there:

  • Remnants of the Boonton Ironworks established in 1831, including a c. 1858 brick building and a stone wall that held the old mill pond;
  • A wood Morris & Essex Railroad trestle that was replaced in 1896 with a steel truss still spanning the river;
  • A hand-powered railroad turntable preserved as an artifact;
  • Stone-walled paths along the river and short loops into the surrounding woods.

Compact and walkable from downtown Boonton’s Main Street shops and restaurants. About 15 minutes north of Morristown via I-287.

A good pairing with Tourne County Park a few minutes further north for a half-day in the Boonton area.
