'Unprecedented' Blood Shortage In NJ Following July 4 Storms
The July 4th storms knocked out enough donor center operations across the region that the New York Blood Center is now facing its lowest blood supply since COVID-19, with only about two days’ worth on hand. The NYBC is urgently calling for donations, with type O-negative in especially short supply at less than half a day’s worth. If you’re eligible, appointments can be made at nybc.org or by calling 1-800-933-2566.
