Thousands Without Power In Morris Co. After Major Storms, Heat Wave

A powerful storm on Friday, packing 60-plus mph wind gusts and quarter-sized hail, knocked out power for nearly 70,000 Morris County residents, and a second storm Saturday night kept the misery going. As of Monday morning, more than 14,000 customers were still without power, with some areas like Mendham, Chester, Morris Plains, and Parsippany hit especially hard and restoration possibly stretching into Thursday.
