Revolutionary Army's March Through Morris Co. To Be Honored With Marker

A new New Jersey State Historical Marker will be unveiled at the Frelinghuysen Arboretum on Thursday, honoring the French army’s march through Morris County in August 1781 on the way to the Battle of Yorktown. The free dedication ceremony, hosted by the Morris County Park Commission, runs from 10 a.m. to noon and recognizes General Rochambeau’s forces, whose route through the arboretum’s grounds was part of the larger push that ended major combat in the Revolutionary War.
