Rabid Bat Found On North Jersey Hiking Trail

A rabid bat was found on the Lackawanna Trail in Sussex County, and Hopatcong officials are urging residents to keep pets vaccinated and avoid handling any wild animals. If you find a bat in your home or wake up to one in your room, don’t let it go: call the Hopatcong Police at 973-398-5000 so Animal Control can capture it and test it if needed.
