Passaic Co. Fugitive Caught At Traffic Stop After 2 Decades

A Passaic County man wanted for first-degree attempted murder spent roughly 20 years on the run by using his own brother’s identity, but a routine traffic stop in Paramus finally caught up with him. Yancy Haywood, 52, was pulled over on Route 4 after police noticed his Florida plates were covered with a tinted plate cover, and when a records check connected his fake name to an active warrant, the game was up. Haywood apparently took it in stride, telling the arresting officer, “You did your job.”
