North Jersey Zoning Official Who Faked Permits For Cash Faces Judge

A former Passaic County zoning official has been sentenced to three years in state prison after admitting he and two co-conspirators sold fake Paterson zoning permits, sometimes forging the signature of the city’s Planning and Zoning Director. Jose Fermin, 54, is also permanently barred from holding any public office or employment in New Jersey, while his two co-conspirators received non-custodial probation.
