North Jersey Zoning Officer Who Faked Permits For Cash Faces Judge
A former Passaic County zoning official, Jose Fermin, has been sentenced to three years in state prison after pleading guilty to conspiracy to commit official misconduct for selling fake zoning permits in Paterson between 2020 and 2022. His two co-conspirators, who forged the planning director’s signature alongside him, received non-custodial probation, and Fermin is permanently barred from any public employment in New Jersey.
