North Jersey New Year's Day Slaying Solved, Officials Say

Authorities have arrested David Lawrence, 41, of Paterson, in connection with a New Year’s Day shooting on Market Street that killed a 36-year-old man and wounded a 55-year-old. Lawrence faces first-degree murder and related charges following an eight-month investigation, and the state has filed for pretrial detention.
