NJ Woman Swipes Family Dog From Front Yard, Charged With Theft, Police Say

A Clifton family’s Shih Tzu-Yorkie mix, Rocky, was snatched from the front yard by a Newark woman and a boy who were caught on surveillance video and never bothered to knock on anyone’s door. After a month-long investigation, Mery Cepeda-Chevalier, 29, was charged with third-degree theft of a domestic companion animal, and Rocky was safely reunited with his owners three days after going missing.
