NJ State Wrestling Champion Stripped Of 4th Title

Anthony Knox, a St. John Vianney High School wrestler who had won four state titles, has had his most recent championship stripped by the NJSIAA after an 8-0 committee vote found he violated the association’s sportsmanship policy and bench rule during a brawl at a February 2025 match. Knox had been allowed to compete for that title after his family won a temporary restraining order against his suspension, but the NJSIAA’s Controversies Committee has now revoked both his Region 7 and state titles on final review. The decision can still be appealed to the NJSIAA Executive Committee, and Knox’s attorney is due in Mercer County Superior Court for a management conference Wednesday.
