A New York woman who was arrested at a Netcong gas station after police found four pounds of meth in her car walked away with $110,000 in settlements after a judge ruled the search violated her Fourth Amendment rights and tossed the entire case. The Netcong Police Department paid $85,000 and the Morris County Sheriff’s Office chipped in another $25,000, following a successful motion to suppress that argued a parked car in a parking lot isn’t subject to the same warrantless search rules as a vehicle stopped on the road.
