Morristown Middle Schooler Wins Statewide Essay Contest

Ruby Kessler, an eighth-grader at Frelinghuysen Middle School, won the middle school category of the NJEA’s “Who Belongs in the New Jersey Hall of Fame” essay contest with her piece arguing that Larry Abrams, founder of Book Smiles, deserves a spot. Along with winners from Edison and Paterson, Ruby takes home a $500 scholarship to put toward a camp, program, or extracurricular activity of her choice.
