Morris Co. Woman's Death Prompts Statewide Police Initiative

New Jersey law enforcement will dedicate a statewide traffic enforcement effort this Saturday to Patti Smith Barrett, a 54-year-old Chatham woman and mother of four who died in January after being struck by a distracted driver. The Goal Zero Mid-Summer Saturation Enforcement Initiative will place officers across the state with a focus on pedestrian safety, honoring Barrett’s memory while working to prevent similar tragedies.
