Missing Woman, 87, Found Dead In Morris County Woods, Cops Say

Virginia Taetzch, 87, was found dead in the Pyramid Mountain Natural Historic Area in Montville after she and a 77-year-old companion went hiking Sunday and were reported missing when their car was found in the parking lot that night. Her companion, John Higgins, was rescued Tuesday morning after a multi-agency search and taken to a hospital for treatment. Authorities have not released a cause of death.
