Misconduct Allegations Addressed By Gov. Sherrill

Governor Mikie Sherrill issued a statement Tuesday saying her office takes “any reports of inappropriate behavior or misconduct extremely seriously,” days after the New Jersey Globe reported that Lt. Governor Dale Caldwell is under investigation for alleged inappropriate behavior with women and possible ethics violations involving state jobs. Sherrill never named Caldwell directly, and that careful sidestep drew criticism from Republican lawmakers who are calling on her to place Caldwell on administrative leave, disclose when the investigation began, and commit to releasing its findings.
