A golden retriever named Libby bolted after being startled by an air compressor near Tama, Iowa, in May 2023, and has been surviving on her own ever since, weathering Midwest blizzards, brutal heat, and three full years of life in the wild. Hundreds of thousands of followers worldwide have joined the search through Paws of Hope Animal Rescue’s Facebook page, while volunteers, local residents, and rescue networks keep sharing sightings and taking turns at traps, hoping to finally bring her home.
