Man Lying In Road Hit By Dump Truck, Killed In Ocean County, Prosecutor Says

A man was killed early Monday morning in Jackson, Ocean County, after a dump truck driver ran over him while he was lying in the road on South Hope Chapel Road around 2:30 a.m. The driver, who initially mistook the man for road debris, stopped immediately and called police, but the victim was pronounced dead at the scene from significant head injuries. Multiple agencies are investigating the incident.
