Man Bit Victim's Ear Off In Point Pleasant Beach Bar Fight, Authorities Say

A Toms River man, Michael Barone, and a Point Pleasant Beach man, John Hafner, have been charged with aggravated assault after a bar fight at 401 Boatyard left a victim with a large portion of his ear bitten off and injuries requiring multiple surgeries. The incident began when the victim intervened after a woman asked the two men to stop following her around the bar.
