ICE Is Illegally Using NJ Warehouse As Detention Facility, Advocates Say
An advocacy group called Project NINJA says it has submitted evidence to the New Jersey Attorney General’s Office that ICE is using a Roxbury warehouse as a detention and transfer facility, defying a U.S. District Court order that limits activity there to maintenance and security. The evidence centers on a Dover arrest in September, during which the detainee reportedly called a relative saying he was in a “jail or prison” while his transport vehicle was observed at the warehouse. The AG’s office says its investigation is ongoing and it will take necessary steps to address any violations of the court order.
