Hit-And-Run Kills 2 Pedestrians In Newark Crosswalk, Search For Driver Continues

Two women, Mariana Elizabeth Valverde Beltran, 58, of Elizabeth, and Maria Isabel DeLosAngeles Salgado Ayala, 61, of Newark, were struck and killed by a vehicle while crossing in a Newark crosswalk late Saturday night. The driver fled the scene heading northbound on North 7th Street, and the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office is asking anyone with information to call the tips line at 1-877-847-7432.
