Historic Long Valley General Store Eyes Long-Awaited Reopening
After sitting dark for more than a year, the Schooley’s Mountain General Store, one of New Jersey’s oldest (think early 1800s) and a spot that once hosted presidents like Grant and Roosevelt, is finally getting a soft reopening this Saturday. New owners Mark and Maria Broadhurst plan to serve breakfast, lunch, local goods, and treats from their own Schooley’s Mountain Confection Company while honoring the store’s long history in the Long Valley community.
