From Benedict Arnold To Today: New Morris Co. Exhibit Explores Local Legal History

A new self-guided exhibit inside the historic Morris County Courthouse traces over 270 years of local legal history, from the county’s first log courthouse in 1755 through landmark cases like Benedict Arnold’s 1779 court-martial and an 1887 blasphemy trial argued by Robert Ingersoll. The free exhibit is open weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with visitors starting at the Administration & Records Building at 10 Court St. before crossing into the courthouse itself.
