Floodwater-Soaked Golf Cart Ignites, Destroys Jersey Shore Home

A golf cart soaked by last weekend’s nor’easter ignited and burned a three-story West Wildwood home to the ground on Thursday, with fire spreading rapidly up the exterior decks before crews arrived. A dog was rescued from inside and treated by a veterinarian, and no people were injured. Authorities are urging residents not to use or charge any battery-powered equipment, including e-bikes and e-scooters, that was exposed to floodwater until they have contacted the manufacturer for guidance.
