Family Dog Alerts Owner To NJ House Fire, Saving Lives, Officials Say

A West Milford poodle named Squilliam woke his owner Aida Kelly before the smoke detectors did when their Elm Street home caught fire early Friday morning, allowing both to escape uninjured. One firefighter was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, and the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
