The Cookie Connect at 88 South Street is closing on August 28 after five years, with owners citing ingredient costs that have more than doubled (chocolate that ran $230 for 25 pounds last year now costs $480). Rather than swap premium ingredients for cheaper substitutes or raise prices, the owners chose to close the Morristown location, though their Hoboken, Bloomfield, and Ridgewood shops will stay open.
