Drunken Driver Hospitalizes Cop In Fiery North Jersey Crash: Police

A drunk driver slammed into two parked police cars on Route 21 in Clifton early Sunday morning, injuring one officer and forcing another to dive over a concrete divider to avoid being hit. Matthew Cancel, 32, of Passaic, was arrested for DUI and assault by auto after the crash, which set the Acura and one police vehicle on fire. All those hospitalized, including the injured officer, were later released.
