Driver Who Killed NJ Tow Truck Worker Criminally Charged, Officials Say

Pierre Innocent, 54, of Orange, has been charged with vehicular manslaughter nearly a year after Daniel “DJ” Ortiz, a 24-year-old tow truck driver, was struck and killed while assisting a disabled vehicle on I-287 in Harding Township. Innocent was released on pre-trial monitoring with conditions including surrendering his passport and refraining from driving.
