Disabled Morris Co. Sheriff’s Officer Denied Retirement Badge, Suit Says

A retired Morris County Sheriff’s officer is suing the Sheriff’s Office after it refused to issue him a retirement badge and law enforcement ID following his disability retirement for a knee injury sustained on the job. Robert Nielsen and his union argue the denial violates both federal law (LEOSA) and the New Jersey Law Against Discrimination, essentially punishing him for getting hurt while subduing an inmate.
