Coach Faces Assault Charges After Kids' Softball Game Brawl: Morris Co. Prosecutors

A youth girls’ softball game in East Hanover took an ugly turn Wednesday when coaches brawled after the handshake line, with the fight spilling down the first base line while players and spectators looked on. Matthew J. Magaletta, 54, of Florham Park, a listed coach for the East Hanover/Florham Park Hornets, was arrested and charged with two counts of fourth-degree simple assault, the only charges announced so far.
