Chemical Giant To Pay Millions After Contaminating 2 Morris Co. Towns, AG Says
Hercules LLC, formerly a chemical and munitions company, will pay $4.5 million to settle a 2007 state lawsuit over contamination at sites in Chester and Kenvil in Morris County, along with locations in Middlesex and Gloucester counties. The funds will go toward restoring natural resources, and Hercules must also pay an additional $50,000 to preserve more than 600 acres of conservation easements, including 235 acres in Kenvil.
