A bright fireball lit up New Jersey skies around 2 p.m. on Saturday, with residents from Montville and Denville to the Shore reporting a vivid orange, red, and yellow streak low on the horizon. NASA confirmed it was a meteor that ultimately broke up over Massachusetts and New Hampshire, releasing energy equivalent to about 300 tons of TNT.
