Breaching Whale Sinks Fire Boat In Raritan Bay

A whale breached directly under a Carteret Fire Department boat in Raritan Bay on July 4th, sinking it within seconds and forcing all firefighters on board to abandon ship. Everyone survived thanks to life jackets and quick rescues by a nearby Jet Skier, a recreational boater, and the Perth Amboy Fire Department’s marine crew, and no injuries were reported.
