Berkeley Grandfather's Blood Alcohol Was Double Limit In Fatal Crash, Affidavit Says

A Berkeley Township grandfather charged in the July boating deaths of his two young grandchildren had a blood alcohol level of 0.16 percent, double the legal limit, when his blood was drawn hours after the crash on Barnegat Bay. Stephen Schneider, 64, has been charged with two counts of reckless vessel homicide in the deaths of 9-year-old Mya Golabek and 7-year-old Sigmund Golabek, and was released to await trial under Level 3 monitoring with restrictions on operating any vehicle or vessel.
