230K Without Power As Severe Thunderstorms Wallop NJ
Severe thunderstorms with gusts up to 60 mph swept through New Jersey on Friday evening, knocking out power for more than 230,000 homes and businesses. Morris County took the hardest hit, with over 67,000 JCP&L customers in the dark, and Roxbury Township reported trees falling on homes and vehicles and trapping people inside while emergency crews worked to reach life-threatening situations first.
