Janet Mandel is making the case for the Nabis, a late 19th and early 20th century group of artists who drew their spiritual and aesthetic fire from Paul Gauguin and the Symbolist poets. Think of them as the Impressionists’ slightly mysterious cousins who were doing work just as innovative but somehow missed the fame memo. This free Zoom session runs Thursday, July 23, 2026, from 7:00 to 8:00 PM, and you’ll need to register to get the link. It’s a solid hour to learn something new without leaving the couch, fighting for parking on Miller Road, or pretending you already knew who the Nabis were.
