(ZOOM) The Impressionists: Imagining the Modern

@ Morristown & Morris Township Library

Most people don’t know that the Impressionists and their works were initially reviled by critics and rejected by the public. We will discuss the story of how this now-beloved art movement was born and why it flourished.  Presented by Janet Mandel.  This is a virtual series, pleas…

It turns out the Impressionists spent years being the most hated artists in Paris before becoming the ones you see on every museum tote bag. On June 22 at 7 p.m., Janet Mandel leads this Zoom talk on how the movement went from critically despised to universally celebrated, and why it stuck. It’s free to attend from your couch, which is frankly a better seat than most gallery openings. Register through the Morristown and Morris Township Library’s event page to get the Zoom link sent to you.
