The Morristown & Morris Township Library is running a film series to mark the 250th anniversary of the American Revolution, and tonight’s pick is a good one: the 1972 big-screen version of the Broadway musical 1776, starring William Daniels and Howard da Silva. It follows the first Continental Congress wrestling with whether to actually go through with this whole independence thing, set to song. Doors open at 6:15 PM, the film runs from 6:45 to 8:45 PM in the lower-level Meeting Room, light refreshments are served, and admission is free. Sponsored by the Friends of the Library, which is the kind of sentence that makes us feel good about our library card.
