Scavenger Hunt: Seedy Business

Turns out plants don’t wait for spring to do their thing. Fall is prime seed-dropping season, and Frelinghuysen Arboretum is leaning into that with a photo scavenger hunt built around tracking them down. You’ll wander the grounds looking for seeds that trees, shrubs, and wildflowers are quietly stashing for winter, the same ones squirrels and birds are racing you to find. Complete the hunt and you’ll walk away with a prize, which puts you one up on the squirrels. The hunt runs 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on September 27, 2026. Check the Morris County Parks listing for any registration details.
