Turns out plants are way ahead of us on the whole seed thing. While everyone’s focused on spring planting, fall is when a lot of plants are already dropping seeds, setting them up to survive winter and giving birds and mammals a chance to squirrel some away (sometimes literally). Frelinghuysen Arboretum is turning that autumnal seed scatter into a photo scavenger hunt, running from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm on September 26. Complete the hunt and you’ll walk away with a prize, which puts it ahead of most Saturday morning plans we’ve made recently. Check the Morris County Parks listing for any details we’re too small-town to have tracked down.
