Turns out plants aren’t waiting around for spring. According to the folks at Frelinghuysen Arboretum, fall is prime seed-dropping season, and birds, mammals, and apparently you can all take advantage of that. The arboretum is running a photo scavenger hunt called “Seedy Business” throughout September, including September 9, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Hunt down seeds across the grounds, photograph them, complete the hunt, and you’ll walk away with a prize. It’s the kind of low-key outdoor activity that works equally well for curious kids, nature-minded adults, and people who just needed an excuse to get off the couch.
