Scavenger Hunt: Seedy Business

Turns out plants are way ahead of us on the whole fall-planting thing. While everyone else is busy raking leaves and lamenting the end of summer, trees and shrubs are quietly dropping seeds to prep for winter, and birds and mammals are out here caching them like tiny furry doomsday preppers. Frelinghuysen Arboretum is leaning into that autumnal seed frenzy with a photo scavenger hunt running from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Grab your phone, keep your eyes low, and find the goods. Complete the hunt and you’ll walk away with a prize, which honestly beats most things we’ve done on a Tuesday.
