Turns out plants are way ahead of us. While everyone’s busy assuming seeds are a spring thing, fall is actually when a lot of plants drop their seeds, giving them time to acclimate to winter cold and giving birds and mammals a chance to stash them away. Frelinghuysen Arboretum is leaning into that with this photo scavenger hunt, running Sunday, September 6 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wander the grounds, find the seeds, snap your photos, and complete the hunt for a prize. Bring your phone, a curious kid, and a willingness to learn something from a plant.
