A photo scavenger hunt runs daily at Frelinghuysen Arboretum through at least mid-July, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day. The premise: fairies have supposedly scattered clues through the gardens, under leaves, and along the trails, and it’s your job to track them down with a camera. Complete the whole quest and you’ll earn what the organizers are calling a “fairy-approved prize,” which is exactly the kind of vague reward that will absolutely thrill a seven-year-old and mildly intrigue the rest of us. Bring your phone, a kid (borrowed or your own), and a willingness to crouch near shrubbery without explanation.
