On the Fourth of July, while everyone else is stress-grilling hotdogs, the fairies at Frelinghuysen Arboretum are leaving a different kind of trail. This photo scavenger hunt sends you through the gardens, under leaves, and along what the organizers are calling enchanted trails, hunting for hidden clues from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Finish the whole quest and you’ll walk away with a fairy-approved prize (their words, and we respect the branding). Bring your camera, bring a kid who will absolutely take this more seriously than you do, and give yourself a solid reason to be somewhere shady on a July afternoon.
