Forget the “most expensive” rankings and the hall-of-fame blockbusters. Tina Rivers Ryan, former Editor in Chief of Artforum and ex-curator at the Met, argues those lists miss the point entirely. On February 9 at the Morris Museum, she’ll walk through five paintings, by Rembrandt, Raphael, van Eyck, Monet, and Jackson Pollock, chosen not for their price tags but for what they reveal about what art can actually do. There’s also a bonus work pulled straight from the Morris’s own collection. Doors open at 9:15 AM, lecture at 10:00 AM.
