The GRAMMY-winning Orpheus Chamber Orchestra performs without a conductor, which sounds like a recipe for chaos but apparently produces what the New York Times called “edge-of-the-seat intensity.” They’re joined by violinist Paul Huang, whose resume includes stepping in for Anne-Sophie Mutter at Bravo!Vail, playing for 75,000 people at an NFL opener, and earning a Washington Post notice that his technique makes “the most punishing string phrases feel as natural as breathing.” The program pairs Elena Ruehr’s “Shimmer” with the Beethoven “Kreutzer” Sonata and a Dvorak American Sinfonietta. Tickets are $48 for members and $53 for the general public (that includes the $3 handling fee). Thursday, April 15, 2027, at 7:00 PM at the Morris Museum.
