The GRAMMY-winning Orpheus Chamber Orchestra does something that still feels like a quiet act of rebellion: they perform without a conductor, and have since day one. The New York Times called it “edge-of-the-seat intensity,” which is a better endorsement than anything we could write. Joining them on February 19 at 7:00 PM is pianist Isata Kanneh-Mason, whose résumé includes the First Night of the BBC Proms and Carnegie Hall, so she’s not exactly easing into the gig. The program runs from Handel’s Water Music and Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 27 through a new commission by Katie Jenkins and Haydn’s Symphony No. 91. Tickets are available through the Morris Museum box office at 973-971-3706.
