A brand-new non-fiction book club is landing at the F.M. Kirby Gallery, and the debut pick is a good one. “Booked on Reality” meets on the second Wednesday of every month at 7:00 p.m., and the June 10th kickoff tackles Michael Lewis’s “Who is Government,” a collection where Lewis recruited some of his favorite writers to profile the people quietly doing remarkable work inside the federal bureaucracy. Think: a former coal miner preventing mine-roof collapses, an IRS agent who sounds like he wandered in from a crime novel, and a cemetery administrator who somehow runs the best-managed organization in the country. Refreshments are provided, and you can grab a reserved copy at the Circulation Desk.
